A new look for a startup specialising in user-generated product wishlists and curated gift guides.

The Brief

To communicate the company’s offering, which previously hadn’t been clear. To promote the download of a browser plugin, and the social aspect of accessing other people’s wish lists. 

Our role

Our project management oversaw all the moving parts of UX design, development with Ruby on Rails and client services, allowing the client to focus on product curation and seasonal promotions ahead of the website’s launch.

Working in-house with HintHint gave us a unique insight to the client’s needs and helped us design a better structured e-commerce platform and a stronger identity.

A refresh

The signature bow icon got a makeover, and new colours and fonts were applied across the board.

Illustrated icons were created to aid usability and reflect the personal nature of the service.

The outcome

A browser plugin now enables users to add items easily to a shopping list. When they return to Hint Hint’s website, the newly-integrated e-commerce function allows them buy all their items directly through their lists.

This makes better sense in terms of UX, and gives the client stronger analytics and commission on sales.
